Syrian spaghetti — a simple baked pasta dish tossed with tomato sauce, a hint of cinnamon and oil, then baked until the top turns crunchy. Easy, comforting and a little unexpected.

  • 16 ounces Spaghetti
  • 8 ounces Tomato Sauce
  • 6 oz Tomato Puree
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup Vegetable Oil
  • Dash Salt
  • Dash Pepper

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to the boil. Add the spaghetti and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, or until al dente, then drain and stir in the tomato sauce, tomato purée, cinnamon, oil, salt and pepper. Transfer to the prepared dish.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the top is crunchy.
