A hearty, no-fuss British hotpot of browned sausages and butter beans in a rich tomato sauce, sweetened with treacle and warmed with mustard.

Ingredients

  • 8 large Sausages
  • 1 Jar Tomato Sauce
  • 1200g Butter Beans
  • 1 tbls Black Treacle
  • 1 tsp English Mustard

Preparation

  1. In a large casserole, fry the sausages until browned all over, about 10 minutes.
  2. Add the tomato sauce and stir well, then stir in the beans, treacle and mustard.
  3. Bring to a simmer, cover and cook for 30 minutes.
  4. Great served with crusty bread or rice.
